Heather Herndon Wright is the Director of Supply Chain Diversity for the Vistra Energy family of companies which includes Corporate Services, Power Generation, and Electric Retail. She considers her top responsibility to be creating jobs by developing diverse business enterprises from which Vistra Energy can buy from and sell through. Per the most recent Vistra Energy Economic Impact Study, diverse suppliers employ more than 2,500 people and generates nearly half a billion dollars in direct support of the business.
To verify the economic and business impacts, Wright relies heavily on data to generate verifiable facts on cost savings and contribution margins. The data-driven facts or analytics are used to drive engagement of diverse suppliers across the business by demonstrating to Vistra executives and internal decision makers that diverse suppliers are making measurable contributions and are core to the success of Vistra Energy. Wright ensures data is put in a communicable and usable form so the entire company is always informed. She has the commitment of leadership, beginning with the CEO leading the Supply Chain Diversity Advisory Council.
