Debra Clark Stewart
Director, Supplier Diversity, Workforce Development and Diversity Outreach
Shell

As Director of Supplier Diversity, Workforce Development and Diversity Outreach for Shell, Debra Clark Stewart is responsible for developing and implementing strategies and programs that support U.S. supplier diversity. A nine-time WBENC “Top Corp” winner, Shell has been nominated for three consecutive years for the NMSDC Supplier of the Year award and their combined Tier 1/Tier 2 spend in 2010 alone exceeded $730 million.

Debra is an active member of the National Minority Supplier Diversity Council, the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, and also serves as the chair of NMSDC’s Petrochemical and Energy Industry Group (PEIG).

While one of Shell’s biggest challenges is the strength of the Tier 1 pipeline for MWBE suppliers able to participate in core categories of supply to Shell, Debra has launched a capacity building initiative aimed at addressing this gap. In fact, one of Debra’s recent accomplishments was chairing PEIG’s annual Procurement Connections Forum, which was attended by over 300 MWBEs participating in over 500 matchmaking sessions.
