Fisher Scientific has a comprehensive supplier diversity program with more than 40 different supplier diversity partners. As the Manager, Supplier Diversity Program, Heather Vono has been instrumental in building a national strategy for Thermo Fisher Scientific in their dealings with small and diverse businesses.

Many small and diverse businesses have the enthusiasm and drive to get involved in the lab environment, but fail to take advantage of the resources available. Too often, Heather speaks with businesses after they’ve already invested resources creating programs that could have been implemented at little to no cost – a message that she and her team are trying hard to convey.

Heather’s work at Fisher Scientific has been crucial in building a team that understands the industry needs and have taken significant, worthwhile steps to make a difference in the field.
