Microsoft’s Director of Supplier Diversity, Fernando Hernandez has been responsible for ensuring that the Supplier Diversity program is a success. He helped build Microsoft’s supplier diversity outreach efforts with over $1.28 billion spend in this sector alone in the past two years.

Microsoft is a member of the National Minority-Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) Inc. and the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and currently has dealings with almost 2000 MWBE businesses in the U.S.

Fernando has helped find these partners through the events sponsored by NMSDC, WBENC, USBLN and USMBDA among others. Searching for companies with that cutting edge in new technology is something he is particularly gifted at and he has helped guide these new businesses into a mutually profitable relationship with Microsoft.

Fernando has been helped in sourcing and training these new companies through the support of his Global Procurement Team as well as the faith of Senior Leadership within the company.
