Dallas Simmons is the Supplier Diversity Program Manager in the SCM Procurement and Center of Excellence Department at Dominion Energy. He is pursuing a stretch goal of 20% of procurement spend with diverse suppliers by 2025. Dallas developed policy changes that promote building relationships with diverse suppliers, like tying diversity spend goals to incentive packages for leaders. He developed the Diverse Supplier Showcase Series that connects representative leaders across business segments in one-on-one sessions with diverse suppliers. Dallas launched the 2020 Convergence virtual supplier diversity event that hosted more than 500 participants.
To drive change within his team and across the organization, Dallas promotes transparency through analytics and insight reports that contain detailed information for each business segment. He meets quarterly with the Executive Diversity Council, which sets and monitors objectives for workforce and supplier diversity, corporate philanthropy, and community involvement. Dallas is in the process of developing a Supplier Diversity Mentoring Program. He is a firm believer in supporting the communities served, and he proactively meets with diverse suppliers and introduces them to decision-makers.
