Farryn Melton is the SVP, Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) for Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS). She leads a world-class Strategic Sourcing & Procurement organization with a purpose-driven global supply chain. She looks to supplier partners to be forward-thinking and innovative. The commitment to supplier diversity fosters empowerment, wealth creation, and job creation in communities. Her team supported the integration of Celgene in 2019 by leading strategic sourcing opportunities and business transformation initiatives to drive strategic value for the new company. In fact, the commitment to inclusion and diversity led BMS’s commitment to spend $1 billion with diverse suppliers by 2025.
Inclusion and Diversity are an essential part of Farryn’s core leadership. She leads with empathy to build team dynamics that tap into individual passions. There is no greater example of this than an innovative program her team leads called ‘Power 2 Impact.’ This award-winning program magnifies the impact that supplier diversity has in communities and connects diverse entrepreneurs, procurement, and business leaders with local community organizations. This provides opportunities for underserved youth in local communities to interact with inspirational leaders and role models. The team has hosted over twenty events with community partners such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and both the Los Angeles and Philadelphia LGBT focused youth centers.
