Serving as the Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer at Lumen Technologies, India Sylvester has made enormous strides in creating an inclusive environment that celebrates Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Allyship & Social Impact (IDEAS). She oversees the Allyship at Work initiative, which fosters brave spaces where leaders and employees can converse on relevant and sensitive topics in a psychologically safe setting. India led the development of a new partnership with Catalyst and Out & Equal & Disability:IN. She empowers leaders with data and insights to drive inclusion.
Utilizing a strategic approach to championing IDEAS, India develops robust training programs, partnerships, and systemic internal policy enhancements. She rolled out Allyship at Work training for all leadership levels and will launch a staff version. India collaborates with many outside organizations, including Lean In for Allyship at Work and Disability:IN. She expanded Self-ID options to include LGBQT+ and introduced a Gender Transition Support Guide. Collaboration across the HR Leadership Team and regular communication about IDEAS has been a cornerstone in driving positive change within Lumen.
