Ingrid Beckles is the Manager of Supplier Diversity at Mass General Brigham. She has developed a robust Supplier Diversity program with strong support from executive leadership, including the Board of Directors, President, and Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. She partners with supplier diversity advocacy organizations, internal and external stakeholders, working closely with the internal Supplier Diversity Advisory Committee, Supply Chain Leaders, and others. She is inspired by diverse suppliers as she creates contracting opportunities for them, considering each small and large engagement a win. Ingrid believes large organizations like Mass General Brigham have an important responsibility to promote DEI values within the enterprise that reach into the community. Several initiatives have been implemented, including United Against Racism and the creation of the DEI office and ERGs.
Ingrid is always striving to utilize the Supplier Diversity program as a path to improving the patient experience. For example, she proposed providing ethnic hair and skin products to BIPOC patients which led to the introduction of a minority-owned business into the supply chain. The Supplier Diversity program is aligned with the organization’s four pillars of the mission statement: Patient Care, Research, Teaching, and Community.
