Jim Linehan, Vice President, Financial Services at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA), oversees operating and capital budgeting, procurement, real estate and supplier diversity. This unique blend of responsibilities positions Jim well to influence decision making and increase the awareness of internal and external leaders about the importance of diversity.
Jim has demonstrated how supplier diversity can help the company build new partnerships with dynamic and innovative disrupters. He implemented policies, procedures, tools, and training for business leaders and suppliers and ensured they got the internal visibility needed. Jim is diligent about collaborating with key decision-makers to help them understand that making the easiest choice is usually not the best choice.
Partnership building is one of Jim’s key strengths and he recognizes its importance in succeeding and advancing programs like supplier diversity. Internally Jim is one of the longest standing members of the company’s diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging committee as well as the commerce pillar lead and executive sponsor of the empowering abilities ERG. Externally his role of Chairman of Board for the Greater New England Minority Supplier Development Council is a testament to his ability to build coalitions and collaborations that advance diverse businesses.
