Joy Wong Develops Best-In-Class Supplier Diversity Program at New York Life


Joy Wong is the Corporate Vice President, Head of Supplier Diversity at New York Life. She has grown the company’s reputation as a best-in-class organization for diverse suppliers, providing education and advocacy across diverse business communities. Joy fosters a diverse supply chain by developing strong internal partnerships with leaders across departments. Her efforts have led to phenomenal success where the inclusion of diverse vendors in all competitively sourced RFP (when qualified diverse suppliers match the project scope) reached the highest inclusion levels in the program’s history. She was instrumental in the formation of New York Life’s Supplier Diversity Advisory Council, leveraging advocacy and support for Supplier Diversity internally and externally.

Joy serves on the Board of the New York & New Jersey Minority Supplier Development Council and won its 2020 Advocate of the Year Award. She is an active member of the Financial Services Roundtable for Supplier Diversity, the Conference Board Supplier Diversity Leadership Council, and the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) Procurement and Corporate Advisory Councils. Joy volunteers as a corporate mentor to diverse-owned businesses in collaboration with the National Minority Supplier Development Council, NY&NJ MSDC, and NGLCC’s mentorship programs.
