Kimberly Coffman Elevates Supplier Diversity at Voya Financial


Over the course of her career, Voya Financial’s Supplier Diversity Director, Kimberly Coffman has built roadmaps to help impact the future success of businesses and communities. She uses assessment tools at the start of any program transformation to inform a future state, monitor progress, and share achievements with executive teams, internal and external stakeholders to garner support. At Voya, Kimberly also participates in benchmarking studies to identify opportunities for improvement of the supplier diversity program, including industry studies, advocacy organization’s awards and recognition surveys, and customer new business development Requests for Proposals to remain abreast of trends and what “best in class” looks like.

Kimberly collaborates with colleagues across the company to discuss and elevate supplier inclusion. Her pattern of sharing stories about diverse suppliers and the supplier diversity business case and value proposition helps increase internal awareness and leads to invitations to meet with various teams. Kimberly collaborates with strategic sourcing, communications, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, sales, and employee-led councils. She launched a pilot Tier 2 program and standard operating procedures within the strategic sourcing process. Kimberly also implemented a new supplier diversity intranet site and a series of eLearning courses.
