Leonard K. Spencer, Head of Supplier Diversity & Inclusion, Global Procurement Organization at Amazon, played an integral role in developing and launching the Amazon Global Procurement Organization’s Supplier Diversity & Inclusion team. He has built many relationships with entrepreneurs, business owners, corporate leaders, certifying agencies, and business development organizations throughout his professional career, which he leverages to increase opportunities for diverse and small businesses. In 2021, he led the team that architected the Orlando Economic Partnership’s first-ever Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Corporate Pledge, resulting over 100undreds of Central Florida businesses pledging their commitment to remove barriers to growth opportunities, and advance economic inclusion within their corporations.
Leonard’s efforts are driven by his strong belief the business success of underrepresented groups, strengthens communities, supports job growth and creates broad-based prosperity for all. He devotes time to local Chambers of Commerce, the Black Boardroom Leadership Institute, the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), and other influential advocacy organizations. Leonard works to implement Supplier Diversity best practices of measuring against diverse spending goals, holding organizational leaders accountable, and engaging stakeholders to ensure continued progress.
