Marisol Ramirez is the Supplier Diversity Manager for Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) and addresses five categories to develop a best-in-class supplier diversity program: metrics, resources, awareness, processes, and retention. Supplier Diversity resides in the Procurement Center of Excellence, and under her leadership, it has experienced phenomenal growth. Marisol oversees two annual supplier diversity fairs, partners with diverse chambers of commerce and advocacy groups, and highlights suppliers through social media and press releases. She developed a business development program with the NJ Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the NJ African-American Chamber of Commerce of NJ, to get diverse suppliers “procurement ready” to bid on Energy Efficiency projects. She also developed an internal Supplier Mentorship Program.
To change with the times, Marisol has hosted virtual supplier diversity fairs for the last three years, enabling coordination of strategic matchmaking for upcoming projects. She created business development programs to aid diverse suppliers in getting certified. The support of PSEG’s President and CEO has been crucial to embedding DEI in the culture, including the commitment to supplier diversity.
