As Supplier Diversity Manager at Eaton Corporation, Marta De Nardin assists the Supplier Diversity lead with managing the relationships with community leaders, advocacy agencies, businesses, and customers to enhance Eaton’s economic impact. Eaton’s program is strong and ready for expansion thanks to the amazing people who served as Supplier Diversity leads throughout the years and an extremely supportive senior leadership. In fact, currently, Supplier Diversity drives approximately one-third of the company’s revenue. Marta plays an important part in expanding the Supplier Diversity Program in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa regions. It is an impactful effort, because the concept of Supplier Diversity is not well known in these areas. To make the expansion into EMEA successful, Marta’s strategy includes organizing in-person and virtual events to deliver the message that Supplier Diversity is important from a fairness and inclusion perspective, but also makes business sense.
Marta’s key best practices include leveraging Employee Resource Groups, because they consist of people interested in driving change who are willing to actively champion Supplier Diversity. Other strategies include collaborating with the I&D office to maximize engagement and communicating success stories both internally and externally.
