Rupert Warner is the Purchasing and Supply Management Specialist, Program Manager Supplier Diversity at the United States Postal Service (USPS). He manages programs promoting Supplier Diversity through the nine elements of the USPS Supplier Diversity Corporate Plan. Rupert leads a team that quickly pivoted in response to the pandemic, and continued to attend and conduct several seminars, workshops, and conferences that educated suppliers on doing business with large corporate and government entities. He also promoted the USPS Small Business webinar series, focused on helping small businesses recover from the pandemic.
Rupert oversaw the development of over 80 communications to inform contracting officers and internal business partners about strategies that ensure the inclusion of small, minority- and women-owned businesses in the purchasing process. He led the development of a new electronic platform to nominate diverse suppliers for recognition awards, issued the USPS Supplier Diversity Corporate Plan, and issued the informative publication Let’s Do Business to potential suppliers. His success strategy for Supplier Diversity program growth is based on developing reciprocal relationships with small and diverse suppliers through outreach programs.
