Sally Wilson, Vice President, Supplier Diversity Director, ESG for Truist, works to build an effective ecosystem to support supplier diversity. She develops internal and external relationships and is always cultivating new strategic partners that align with the supplier diversity program, such as advisory councils, BRG groups, Tier 1 suppliers, and local and national chambers. An important focus of Sally’s is further exploring the capabilities of existing suppliers, leading to new business opportunities, increased competitiveness, and program sustainability.
To support diverse suppliers, Sally leverages technology to establish virtual connections with suppliers and also leverages social media and other digital channels to raise awareness of the supplier diversity program, engage with suppliers, and improve communication with suppliers. She sees the supplier diversity program as critical for promoting economic empowerment. Sally says Truist’s executive level commitment provides the support to help us align with our purpose, “to inspire and build better lives and communities” and ensures our suppliers reflect who we are as a community and company.
