As Senior Manager, Global Supplier Diversity for Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS), Sundari Pai Luts believes a successful supplier diversity program is an imperative and must intentionally champion diverse communities' economic and social empowerment. The BMS supplier diversity team collaborates across strategic focus areas. They are data capture, opportunity identification (including working with People Business & Resource Groups), cultural campaigns involving supplier diversity, proactive supplier collaboration and innovative ways to increase supplier development, visibility & reporting, and social determinants of health. The supplier diversity team plays an active role at diversity conferences and works innovatively with each procurement function and business stakeholders to develop opportunities to match with diverse suppliers.
Sundari is a member of the BMS Global Supplier Diversity & Sustainability Group which achieved its $1 billion diverse supplier spend goal three years ahead of schedule, and as part of the company’s commitment to accelerate health equity and diversity and inclusion efforts. She started the office of strategic communications for supplier diversity, led an internal Partnering with Purpose campaign and also previously spearheaded the Power2Impact community outreach program. Sundari actively supports the supplier diversity community through mentoring, coaching, as well as engagement of various government agencies and advocacy organizations.
