Susan Johnson, EVP & GM Wireline Transformation & Supply Chain- AT&T and her global supply chain team are driving industry leadership in the Supplier Diversity space. The team’s functions span from procurement and strategic sourcing to distribution and logistics. Diversity is at the core of these global supply chain functions.


Since its inception, AT&T’s Supplier Diversity program has spent over $230 billion with certified diverse-owned businesses with close to $16B in 2022. Beyond the considerable diverse supplier spend, AT&T’s economic impact is visible in the communities they serve by supporting over 400,000 diverse jobs with suppliers and subcontractors. AT&T not only recognizes the value of spend with diverse suppliers, but also the need for the development of sustainable businesses that create generational impact.


AT&T’s Supplier Diversity Advocacy Program focuses on inclusion of small local minority suppliers, including the implementation of “Buy Local, Buy Diverse.” The program supports the economic development of underserved communities by increasing spend with diverse companies and increasing the number of diverse companies within their supply chain.
