Ingrid M. Robinson is Forging Business Opportunities for Diverse Suppliers with the Houston Minority Supplier Development Council

Ingrid M. Robinson is the President of the Houston Minority Supplier Development Council. One of the most robust and successful non-profit organizations devoted to forging relationships between minority business enterprises and the executive decision makers at major corporations, the HMSDC has thrived under Robinson’s leadership. In her time there, the Council has grown to a consortium of more than 130 major corporations, and more than 850 minority businesses. The relationships forged are responsible for more than 15 billion dollars of revenue annually, the continuity of 82,000 local jobs, and almost 2% of Houston’s gross domestic product.

Robinson is able to bring this level of stewardship to the role thanks in part to her own prior corporate experience at Halliburton in roles as the former Director of Global Supplier Diversity and then Director of State and Local Government Affairs. Through her work at the HMSDC, she’s bringing minority business enterprises opportunities, including the high-level mentoring opportunities they need to take full advantage of the available opportunities.
