A recent recipient of the Corris Boyd Leadership and Diversity Award from the Federation of American Hospitals’, Lamont Robinson has coined the “six Cs” of Supplier Diversity - Communities, Customers, Customization, Costs, Compliance and Competition.

Realizing early that the only way to increase diversity spending in the healthcare sector is to get other healthcare providers involved also, his Supplier Diversity Advisory Group has built an online member tool kit. Using this tool kit, many Novation members are able to develop or enhance their own supplier diversity programs.

With 20 percent of small businesses and MWVBEs accounting for a total spend of over $345 million in the diversity sector in 2010 alone, Lamont has helped to not only educate the healthcare sector and its members on the importance of working with minorities, but he has made it easy to do and extremely sustainable.
