As the first Healthcare member of the Billion Dollar Roundtable Ruben Taborda – the VP, Medical Device Procurement/Supplier Diversity– has helped lead and define Johnson & Johnson’s strategies in how they source their MWBE partners. Through a mix of trade shows, event sponsorships and conferences, as well as attending and speaking on different panels, he has improved the company’s outreach efforts and guided the business in dealing with and resolving various supplier diversity challenges.

Ruben has helped to grow the MWBE segment within Johnson & Johnson significantly with over $1 billion spent in 2010 and over $3 billion spent on small businesses in the U.S. In addition he has been voted the Diversity Executive of the Year by the American Association of Hispanic Healthcare Executives and has also been named the Orphaned Star Fish Executive of the Year.
