Charles Perkins Sr. joined Faurecia North America in November 2011 as the Director of Diversity Management. During his short tenure at Faurecia, he has initiated a supplier diversity program from the ground up, for the Paris-based company, and created a Diversity Champion network within Faurecia’s four business units. Diversity Champions serve as liaisons between their respective business units and Perkins’ Diversity Management office, which reports directly to the president of Faurecia NA, Mike Heneka.

Perkins also supported the formation of a minority joint venture between Faurecia and Rush Group (Detroit Manufacturing Systems), established Phone-In-Fridays, during which he holds conference calls with suppliers, and responds to information requests.

Before joining Faurecia, Perkins spent 20 years at Chrysler where he developed his passion for supplier diversity, and was an integral part in developing one of the top OEM hosted diversity tradeshows (Chrysler Matchmaker). Perkins currently serves on the boards of the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council and the Auburn Hills Chamber of Commerce.
