In October, KPMG senior leadership selected Kathy Hannan to take on the newly created role of national managing partner, diversity and corporate social responsibility. When Hannan founded the KPMG Women’s Advisory Board in 2003, women accounted for only about 13 percent of partners despite making up almost half of all hires. She also helped launch KPMG’s Network of Women and she co-chairs the Diversity Advisory Board.
Earlier this year, she moderated a panel discussion hosted by Catalyst on “The Unwritten Rules for Advancement: Seizing Your Own Talent Management” that attracted more than 200 senior women from several financial organizations.
A member of the Ho-Chunk Nation, she was one of six commissioners on its Tribal Employment Rights Office Commission. In 2004, she was appointed to former president George W. Bush’s National Advisory Council on Indian Education and the Advisory Committee of the American Indian Center in 2006.
