As director of supplier diversity and sustainability at Walt Disney, DeLynne Ano helped lead the company to achieve $428.5 million in W/MBE spend last year. Ano’s role also includes the integration of environmental policy and international labor standard compliance in the strategic sourcing process.

Ano is especially proud that supplier diversity is no longer strictly a program at Disney, but a way in which the sourcing team engages in strategic sourcing. Supplier diversity performance has been integrated into the standard sourcing process and the metrics are managed and communicated by finance alongside other key sourcing metrics.

Finding diverse suppliers in the entertainment industrycontinues to be a challenge. While manufacturing companies have worked at it for much longer than service and creative providers, entertainment companies continue to experience a learning curve.
