Fred Lona, the senior director of supplier diversity of Hilton Hotels’ supplier diversity program, seeks to incorporate innovative best practice programs in supplier diversity. He is also eager to prepare individual suppliers to compete successfully and win in the corporate marketplace. To do so, he endeavors to enable community organizations to provide the tools and resources required to compete in the marketplace and participates in the development of a strong internal support system to complement Hilton’s external outreach program.

Lona works hard to change the corporate paradigm of embracing the strategic benefits of integrating MWBEs through education, cost benefits analysis and combating perceived negative stereotypes about MWBEs.

In addition to serving on the NMSDC’s executive board committee, he is also the chair of the organization’s hospitality industry group. As a board member of the Institute of Supply Management’s Supplier Diversity Group, he provides supplier diversity expertise to ISM members.
