Eclaro International considers Consolidated Edison’s Joy Crichlow a real champion of diversity. The director of Con Ed’s supplier diversity program is both a tireless champion of diverse suppliers and a true mentor.

Con Ed and Orange and Rockland Counties spend hundreds of thousands of dollars with diverse suppliers annually. Crichlow has participated in the New York Governor’s Corporate Roundtable Advisory Board to promote the inclusion of minority and women-owned businesses. She also serves on New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Task Force for Supplier Diversity.

Last year, Con Ed hosted a workshop for the Regional Alliance for Small Contractors, conducted a “How to Get Certified with Con Ed” seminar for the Asian American Business Development Center and hosted the Latino Business and Job Service Rising Star Awards. Consequently, it expanded its vendor base by 30 new companies, 12 of which have already received contracts.
