As chief diversity officer at American Express, Kerrie Peraino is responsible for the company's global diversity and inclusion strategy for over 65,000 employees in 130 markets. She oversees the company's US Regional Diversity Council and Chair quarterly meetings to review and update on supplier diversity metrics and achievements among other key objectives in diverse talent acquisition, diverse product mix and diversity as a core value. In recognition of her accomplishments, she was the recipient of the premier American Express Chairman's Award and President's Club Awards.
Under Peraino's leadership, American Express has evolved its diversity strategy, to focus on market segmentation as a way to accomplish four main objectives: ensuring a deeper understanding of diversity issues for market and business unit, seeking out ways to maximize customer segmentation opportunities, developing an understanding of customer needs and building stronger relationships and sharing ideas to generate growth opportunities for diverse customer segments.
