As the Senior Vice President of Operational Excellence and the Chief Procurement Officer at Tyco, Shelley Stewart Jr. has been instrumental in building a Supplier Diversity Program from scratch over a period of nine years. He and his team have recently launched Tyco’s Supplier Diversity Roadmap – a framework for developing strategies that will increase purchases from small businesses and MWBEs.

Shelley has recently been appointed to the U.S. Department of Commerce National Advisory Council on Minority Business Enterprise and is also the Vice-Chair of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC). He has a very close relationship with the Institute for Supply Management (ISM), where he was formerly chair. He also recently been presented with the J. Shipman Gold Medal Award, the supply chain profession’s highest honor.

In addition, during his time with ISM, he helped to develop and launch the Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity (CPSD) program.
